  • Facilities Director
    Reports to the Church Business Administrator Provide management of the Saxe Gotha Presbyterian campus to support our ministries. Maintain multiple buildings, equipment, and HVAC controls, and ensure campus safety and security; manage room usage for ministries and facilities rental. The Facilities Director works in partnership with Church staff and lay people, vendors and suppliers, and people/groups that rent facilities within our campus. Qualifications must include a strong Christian faith, a heart for ministry and following the Church’s doctrine as found in the ECO Essential Tenets and Polity. Essential Functions Facilities and Equipment · Oversee and manage the following: maintenance of buildings and grounds including HVAC, HVAC controls, lighting, Sunday and special event security vendor (in concert with the Safety Team); contracted custodial staff, contract employees for maintenance/repair work, cleaning supplies purchases, landscape maintenance vendor; etc. · Develops the Facilities Budget requests with the Facilities Committee. · Monitors and keeps the Facilities Committee apprised of the upcoming needs, as well as providing monthly budget reports to the Facilities Committee at the monthly Facilities Committee meeting. · For work over $500, request 1 quote and for work over $2,500 request 3 quotes and submit quote(s) for approval to the Facilities Committee, if within budget. Any requests that are not within budget will need to be recommended by the Facilities and Finance Committees and submitted for approval by the Session. · Oversee security on campus, including campus/buildings access, locks, keys and card systems. Security on-call point of contact. Fire Department contact for fire and safety inspections. Prepare and oversee emergency preparedness plan. · Develop and manage vendor relationships for cost effectiveness and responsiveness. Maintain list of official vendors for all necessary repair and maintenance work. Research and recommend new vendors as needed. · Help manage capital projects as needed, in collaboration with the Facilities Committee, including developing scope of work, selecting quality contractors, soliciting bids, scheduling work with operations and contractors, project supervision, and holding contractors accountable. · Handle equipment and furniture maintenance and repair. · Assign and maintain storage spaces on site and any external storage. · Maintains facilities calendar and oversees setup for all meetings, events, etc. · With approval from leadership, hires part-time labor for work on campus. Administrative · Keep files pertaining to equipment, buildings and maintenance agreements organized and current. · Primary staff liaison to attend Facilities Committee meetings. · Supervises the Custodial staff and Maintenance personnel. · Maintain room request calendar and coordinates room usage, giving ministry needs priority. · Maintain updated building maps. Desired Skill Set · Service orientation with a passion for facilitating ministry and extending hospitality to all on campus. · Preferred 3–5 years’ commercial real estate experience and/or property management experience. · Effective administrator with demonstrated construction project management skills. · Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and other related building systems. · Knowledge of IT and telephone systems. · Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills to interact well with internal and external client base. · Self directed in work and yet able to understand the importance of keeping staff informed about issues. · Proficient knowledge of needed software programs and web-based applications. Willing and able to apply advanced features in software and applications, and to learn new programs and applications as needed. Serves on Committees or Departments: Facilities Committee Work Schedule: Schedule to be determined for 40 hours/week including weekdays and occasional Saturdays or Sundays when necessary for large events. On call as required for emergency issues.   • Communications Associate
    Reports to the Communications Manager The Communications Associate primary responsibility is to create, manage and provide expertise for churchwide marketing, communications, advertising, web, and social media ventures. The associate plays a major role in the way of, collaborating, and executing marketing strategy and campaigns. They will also assist in producing newsletters, annual reports, and other marketing-related materials. The Communications Associate will report directly to the Communications Manager. This position will regularly communicate with staff, members, and guests of Saxe Gotha and will help coordinate between different ministry areas. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Works as a team player with ordained staff, non-ordained staff, and lay leaders. 2. Works collaboratively with the Communications Team to develop, coordinate, market, and assist with projects and campaigns. 3. Collaborates with the Communications Team to develop standards and practices to ensure marketing content is uploaded on the proper platforms (tagging, descriptions, graphics, etc.) and follows all necessary processes. 4. Light editing of photos and using approved editing software. 5. Create basic promotional pieces for church events. 6. Assist in marketing efforts across multiple marketing platforms and styles, directing to desired audiences. 7. Stays current on trends and practices in the realm of marketing and church media. 8. Assist with the preparation of marketing materials as needed. 9. Consistently hones personal and technical skills. 10. Shows commitment towards staff values. 11. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed: 1. Possess a working knowledge, experience, and is proficient using software, such as: Microsoft Office 365 systems, Canva, Adobe Suite (including but not limited to: Photoshop, Lightroom, Indesign). 2. Think creatively to solve problems; is willing to step “outside the box” to find solutions. 3. Ability to demonstrate initiative and drive. 4. Excellent interpersonal skills when working with staff and volunteers. 5. Professional self-starter with a growth mindset. 6. Experience with troubleshooting hardware & software issues. 7. Strong communication skills and ability to stay on task. 8. Clear written and verbal communication skills. 9. Ability to stand, stoop, lift, and carry 30 pounds. Minimum qualification: 1. Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school; or two-to-three-years related experience and/or training with equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Experience with social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and X. 3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite applications (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign). General Statement: The high visibility of this position and the requirement to interact with church members, staff, and clergy requires adherence to professional standards of behavior. During the normal course of work, personal, private, or confidential information must be handled with great care and discretion. The daily dress code will be business casual, however special events may require more professional attire. Coordination and teamwork will be expected in all areas of work. Punctuality and courteousness are required. Administrative tasks that can be accomplished without interfering with normal communications and marketing duties may be occasionally assigned. Work Schedule: This is a part-time hourly position. The execution of normal duties and responsibilities will require 20-25 hours per week, usual business hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm with an occasional evening or weekend when needed for special events.
