The Saxe Gotha CDC provides developmentally appropriate care and education for children through our Preschool program (children two through four years), Extended Care program (three and four-year-olds) and Afterschool program (5K through fifth grade children). Care is taken to provide an environment that is both stimulating and nurturing. We offer a place where children actively participate in a variety of experiences designed to encourage the development of the whole child: physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Guidelines developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) are the criteria by which our teaching practices are determined. Our Center is licensed by the S.C. Department of Social Services (DSS). All of our student/teacher ratios are well below DSS guidelines. The emphasis of our program is to develop children’s social skills and competency in everyday situations with both people and objects in the world around us. Each child’s development of a positive self-image and the ability to make choices is important to us. In all we do, we strive to lay a firm foundation for Christian faith as each child matures and grows in an understanding of who God is and each person’s importance to God.
