A Letter From Lee Ann Alexander - Dir. of Children's Ministry (CLICK HERE)
Fall is here and we are enjoying a new theme this season. It is called "God Sightings" and we are encouraging our SPLASH kids to keep their eyes, ears and hearts open for times where they can see, hear, or feel God working in their lives. We want to teach children to be on the watch for God!! Please join us on Sunday and Wednesday Night!

Dear Parents and Friends-

While busy preparing for the 20th annual SNL (Sunday Night Live) children's musical, "Just Run," I can’t help but be flooded with memories of all of the amazing performances over the years by our elementary children’s choirs. I truly believe that these musicals are one of Saxe Gotha’s best kept secrets. Each year, beginning with our 1st graders up through 5th grade, children are given the chance to audition for a role in a full-scale musical, which is layered with singing, dancing and drama.

Hopefully the performances over the years have given God joy, but as I think about them from a child’s point of view, my heart is also joyful. I see bright colors and lights, hear music and singing voices, and feel the rustling of costumes…And most of all, I can feel a nervous excitement before the lights go down and the program begins.

As a parent working in children’s and music ministry, things look a little different, but I am still joyful! - I see huge opportunities for our children to grow in their faith while gaining Biblical knowledge, and possibly developing a particular talent. Many of our SNL kids end up using the SNL experience as a springboard into other art's endeavors, which is a blessing…but more importantly, they are learning at a young age to confidently express their enthusiasm for God’s Word.

I asked some parents to describe their children’s SNL experience and what they thought about our musicals at Saxe Gotha. Here’s what one parent had to say:

“SGPC's Sunday Night Live program has been a huge blessing to our family. It's gotten both of my girls more excited about going to church, and taught them that there are many fun, creative ways to worship God. The imaginative ways the church staff uses music and performance to teach God's word has embedded many scriptures in my children's minds in such a fun way, while also giving them performance experiences they would otherwise not have had. My girls have learned to sing, dance and act, all while having a great time learning about God, thanks to the Sunday Night Live programming! I would highly recommend SGPC's SNL program to anyone wanting a fun, creative, positive and contemporary way for children to learn about our Savior.”

We hope to see you on the 30th.
Have your child bring a friend. Auditions are open to the community, and you don’t have to be a member to try-out.
