Child Development Center

Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Child Development Center is part of the overall ministry of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. This ministry to young children and their families seeks to provide a warm Christian environment for growth and learning while also recognizing and valuing families and family life as an integral part of the ministry.

SGPC CDC provides developmentally appropriate care and education for children ages two through four years through our Preschool program and for children ages three through fifth grade through our Extended Care and After School programs. Care is taken to provide an environment which is both stimulating and nurturing. We offer a place where children actively participate in a variety of experiences designed to encourage the development of the whole child: physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

Our teaching practices are based on guidelines developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our Center is DSS licensed. All of our student/teacher ratios are well below DSS guidelines.

The emphasis of our program is on developing social skills and competency in everyday dealings with both people and objects in the world around us. Each child’s development of a positive self-image and the ability to make choices is important to us. In all we do, we are striving to lay a firm foundation for Christian faith as each child matures and grows in his understanding of who God is and his or her importance to God.

   Preschool/Extended Care Programs

• Preschool 4 year olds will be visiting New Providence Elementary School for a tour Thursday May 16, 2013, leaving at 9:00 am.
• Extended Care is going to the library for Story Time on May 17, 2013, leaving at 9:30 am.
• Preschool 3 year olds will be going to Corley Street park on Thursday May 23, 2013, leaving at 9:30 am.
• Preschool 4 year old Graduation is Tuesday May 28th at 6:00 pm in the church santuary. 
• Preschool 4 year olds will be going to the zoo Wednesday May 29, 2013, leaving at 9:00 am.
• Last day of preschool is Thursday May 30, 2013.
• Last day of extended care is Friday June 7, 2013.

• REGISTRATION for the 2013-2014/Preschool and Extended Care Programs.
  • We still have a few spots remaining in our 3 and 4 year old preschool (part-time) programs.

   Afterschool/Summer Programs

• Last day of the afterschool program is Friday June 7, 2013.
• Summer Program begins Monday June 10, 2013.

• REGISTRATION DATES for the 2013 Summer Program and 2013-2014 Afterschool Program Grades 1 thru 5th.
  • April 8 to April 19 - Currently enrolled students.
  • April 23 - Sibling Registration Day
  • April 24 - Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church Member Day
  • April 25 - Prior student/Wait list Day
  • April 29 - Open to the General public
