Reminder that this Sunday Daylight Savings Time officially begins, which means that everyone should move their clocks forward one hour before they go to bed on Saturday night. We wouldn't want you to oversleep and miss our terrific worship services that we have planned for Sunday, or miss Sunday school! So remember to change those clocks on Saturday!
Lenten Study & Small Groups
Posted February 10, 2015
Starts February 11, 2015
Expires February 12, 2016
Does being a Christian sometimes drive you crazy? If we base our beliefs on false assumptions instead of solid Biblical teaching, then what we think are "Christian" beliefs will lead us astray. Join us this Lent for a study of six popular "beliefs" to discover why they are not Biblical and what the truth really is. (All is based on the book by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, 12 "Christian" Beliefs that Will Drive You Crazy.) Our sermon series starts Febuary 22nd and small groups will be forming. If you are interested in hosting a small group, please contact Helen Harrison Coker via email or phone (803.359.7770, ext 40). Sign up for a small group using our SignUpGenius Lenten Study form. Study God's word with us this Lenten season!

We now have a new blog page! Thanks to Joel Branter, our Assistant Pastor for Next Generation Ministries, for kicking this off the ground. Our blogs thus far are about varying topics and will be updated at least every other week. They will be partially published and linked in our newsletter, This Week at Saxe Gotha, when they are initially written, but will always be located on our website’s blog page. Once we have a good many you’ll even be able to search by topic for a relevant one! Check out the latest blog “Truth & Oprah Winfrey" when you have a sec!
“Ice the Complaints” ChallengePosted January 15, 2015 Starts January 15, 2015 Expires January 15, 2016
A challenge inspired by Pastor Jim’s Jan. 11th sermon is to “Ice the Complaints!” for 21 days. Joel Brantner and Helen Harrison Coker started it and passed it along to Jim who has continued the challenge. (You can watch all three challenges on our SGPC YouTube page.) Some individuals are taking it literally as our pastors have done, while others are merely committing their hearts and minds to the challenge stated in Philippians 2:14, "Do everything without grumbling or arguing."
Are you up for the “Ice the Complaints” challenge? Join us literally and/or spiritually to trust in God and fast from complaining for 21 days!
